Lately, I have been very fond of cooking and trying out recipes for a healthier (or junk free less) lifestyle. This was mainly due to the fact that I have gained a lot of weight by eating out, not exercising and forgetting about my health. You see, I work night shifts and the food options at night are very limited and unhealthy. After months of working at night, I still couldn’t get into a system that would benefit my health and career. I was at a rut.
The solution I came up with was follow how normal people eat. This means only dinner (by the time I get to work) and breakfast (before I get off work).
This was the best choice I have made so far. Not only do I limit unnecessary meals/snacks but also have more choices for food. I took it to the next level by bringing food for either dinner or breakfast to have more control with what comes into my body.
I’ve started this blog to document all my kitchen adventures whether they may be good or bad. And also to hopefully inspire people that cooking is not so hard. Health is wealth and it’s so important to make food and exercise as our main priority.

June 2015 Update: I lost a total of 10lbs by just watching what I eat, minimal exercise and aiming for 10,000 steps a day. (See review for Garmin Vivofit2) Through this little journal of mine I have realized that it isn’t really more of exercise but food that really makes the difference. It’s not just about losing weight, it’s about doing your best to be healthy.
July 2015 Update: I am upcycling this post for July’s Blogging 101. This is my second attempt at Blogging 101 since my first was such a failure. I wasn’t able to commit to posting everyday and following up on all the tasks and assignments. 🙁
March 2016 Update: It has been nine+ months since I have started blogging. A lot of updates have happened and I have grown so much as a writer/blogger. It’s definitely no wonder why my blog has grown as well. Instead of just showcasing food, I now write about a multitude of things that make me happy. I love everything so far and everything is still a journey but I’m happy.
