Awards: The Versatile Blogger Award Pt. 2

I’d like to thank Annie for thinking of me for this lovely award. Have I ever told you why I love awards? It’s because it’s a great way to connect with other bloggers and also a perfect way to show your appreciation and fondness for them and their blogs.

I connected with Annie through Writing 101 and her writing is amazing because she writes from the heart which I love. Check out her blog and see why I adore her!

The Rules are simple. Seven random facts about yourself and nominate seven other bloggers.

7 Random Facts About Me

  1. I think I’m in love with writing. Since I joined Writing 101 this month, I have rekindled my love for writing. I have always been a reader and writer but life just takes you in different directions and I’m glad that I have found writing again.
  2. I’ve been daydreaming of this pair of Nike Internationalist shoes. It has a men’s version which I plan to buy for Mike this Christmas. It’s pricey… I need to save up!
  3. I recently opened a trading account. I have no idea how to do/use it!!!
  4. I’m having trouble working with my colleagues at work. This leaves me no choice but to isolate myself from them. It’s becoming a real burden and I’m considering changing jobs because of it. HELP.
  5. I have eleven “To Read Books”. This list does not include my current read – Liane Moriarty’s The Husband’s Secret which has been juicy so far.
  6. I was at the bookstore (duh!)  the other day and found out that there was another installment to the Millenium Series’ called The Girl in the Spider’s Web. We can all celebrate because I didn’t buy it. 😐
  7. I feel utterly sad about my nephew. He’s seven and he’s not going to school. The doctor said he has ADHD or something like that which needs special attention and special school but his mom…well…we all have family problems.

Here are my nominees:

Melanie from Having an Affair / Anand from Blabberwockying / Shinepositivepower / The Beautified Blogger / Kally

Kelli Marquessa (who I know are award free but I still nominated them because I adore their work and writing and you should too so do head on over to their sites)

I’m sorry I’ll be skipping going into each of my nominees sites/blogs to comment since I’ll be scheduling this post. 🙂

  1. Congratulations Kat! Thank you for nominating me for this award. I really appreciate it. 🙂 Glad to know more about you. I hope there could be something to be done to help your nephew with his needs and may you have a good day at work or find a better job you will enjoy. 🙂 God bless!

  2. Congratulations!! And a big thank you for the nomination! Keep an eye open when I post mine. *grin*

    • I love all the pieces you have on your site and you surely deserve this award. I know I said I’ll e-mail you about my “work problem” but guess what, writing it down made me realize how shallow it was! I had the answer all along and I have a new plan for work. Thank you for being such an inspiration with your advices/posts. I adore your site. Thank you!! 🙂

      • Don’t worry. No problem is actually too small or too trivia. But I’m glad you sort it out yourself. 🙂 if you ever need me, I’m just an email away!

  3. Congratulations Kat! 😀 It’s good to hear that your love for writing was rekindled! 😀 And.. those shoes are TDF!
I have read The Husband’s Secret and let me tell you that it is a good read! 😀

    • Hiii!! Ang tagal ko inisip ano yung TDF. “To die for” pala! 😉 I just finished it and it was so good. Have you read her other books? I’d love to know if it’s as good as this one. 😀

  4. Congratulation Kat 🙂

That picture of yours tracking in the wild is fabulous!

I feel you are a very interesting person. I liked reading about you. I would like to help you about your job situation. I took retirement in 2012, so I can just give some counsel based on your situation and its demand, but prior to that I would like to know what exactly is causing the problem as your sentence in this post is not enough informative.

I also hope your nephew finds better education.

I will respond to nomination in one or two days. Thanks for nominating me.

    Love and light <3

    Anand 🙂

    • Hi Anand! Thank you for commenting and your offer for advice. My main issue is my peers are my friends. We all started out at the same time. Last year some of us got promoted while some weren’t as fortunate. (I’m one of the few unlucky ones) A few of them let it get to their heads and some of us felt “jealous”. It has been months now since I have decided to stay away from them for good for these reasons: I didn’t want to harbor ill feelings anymore, I had to be mature and learn to be more professional. Now that I feel like I am handling it better, I am finding out that I have just lost my friends. What’s worst is I feel like they also lost their professionalism. We can’t even talk anymore whether as friends or office mates. At first I felt like I wanted to fix it for the sake of our friendship but now I’m thinking that maybe these things happen for a reason.

My plan is just to rise above it. I think it’s a good plan, it has been working so far but I’m open to advice, if you have any. LOL. I feel like it is such a shallow problem and typing it in the comment box is so…embarrassing.

      • Hello Kat 🙂

If it feels embarrassing here you can continue conversation on my mail:

        thinkerv0@gmail.com

Or on my Facebook account–the link is given on my blog home page.

        Thanks for writing.

I have been through this and I feel most people will have a hard time believing that just a promotion may cause such big rifts but they do and they really do!

I also feel that you are wise and mature enough to realize that these changes have caused you loss of valuable friendship and you have learnt from them–though I understand that not everyone might be as wise(those who let success enter into heads!)

I feel you are doing good thing by learning and rising about being so petty like most of us do.

My suggestion is: Changing job–just because of this might not be a good idea unless you are hoping for getting other perks like hikes and remunerations and better work environment at another place. 🙂

Sooner or later another promotion cycle will come into picture–where you might be the other end(getting promoted) and some friends might not get promoted there—then you will have to learn to maintain friendship, similarly–what happened this time might also happen again–so I feel you can learn your lessons here itself and move-on.

It is also true that not all people we meet are meant to be there with us for a long time–still to have an open heart and goodwill for all is what makes us human beings in the truest sense!

Have a lovely weekend and a great week ahead 🙂

        LOve and light <3

        Anand 🙂

        • Thank you so much for your words! Another promotion cycle is coming and I am hoping that what happened to us won’t happen to others. There is nothing more I can do but wish them the best and learn from this experience.

I hope your having an awesome week! 🙂

          • Yes, true. I am having a nice week, thanks for asking. I will respond to the award post today. Thanks for the nomination. Love and light <3

            Anand 🙂

  5. Great choices of facts about you! #1: I see what you mean. I love writing (and blogging) too. #4: hang in there. There’ll be a way.

    • I’m very happy to say that I now have a way.. it’s just a matter of making sure I stick with it. 😉

  6. Thank you for the nomination, very honoured that you have included me. Your number 4 random facts about me, I can so relate to this. I have that feeling all the time, you just want to shut down and disappear. I don’t know the answer except that I tend to find the reason why I want to be there in my job and bury myself in that. Find the place that grounds you and reminds you why you are there. This helps me get through the tough stuff. If you don’t have a good reason for being there then maybe it is time for change. Good luck with that. Once again thank you for the nomination.

    • Thank you for your words and reblogging my post in your blog! I love free publicity, lol. I agree with what you said. I just need to remember why I’m there in the first place and if it still helping me grow as a person. There are more important things in life than trying to please and work well with my colleagues. Hugs xx
