Recipe: Steamed Fish // My Style

This is one of the few things I did that I can truly be proud of. I made steamed fish topped with vegetables cooked in sweet soy sauce. I know the title is a mouthful but believe me, the only reason why the name is too long is because I don’t know what to call it. I found inspiration from a past recipe (Steamed Cream Dory in Soy Sauce) but I added vegetables I found in our fridge to make it a completely new meal!

For the steamed fish:

I used a Lapu Lapu and sliced ginger strips. I placed them straight into the steamer as soon as the water boiled. Cook for about thirty minutes or until done.

For the sauce:

I sliced ginger, spring onions, onions, garlic, carrots and red bell pepper. I then set aside in a bowl a mixture of soy sauce, sugar and salt. Saute the ginger, garlic and onion. Then added in the carrots, red bell pepper and onion. Once cooked, add in the soy sauce mixture and adjust the taste to your liking.

The final dish looked like this. I didn’t even bother adding in measurements for the soy sauce mixture because you can’t even imagine how many times I added in the soy sauce, sugar and salt! I’m just happy to cook again and it was surely a success!
