A Poem on Beauty

You look in the mirror
And you are shocked with what you see
Always under inspection
And close scrutiny

You say you see an old face
Filled with wrinkles and lines
But when I take a peek
A single thing I can’t perceive

So you take a lot of time
Covering up these things
After all that make-up
You look youthful as can be

But what you don’t understand, my dear
Is I don’t want you looking like this
I like those little imperfections
That make you oh so perfect for me
