Music Mondays #41

So, I just realized the past two songs from my Music Mondays were from Twenty One Pilots. I guess it only seems fit for me to end July with another Twenty One Pilots song…yes? YES!!

The chorus/refrain got me hooked on this song.

They say stay in your lane, boy, lane, boy
But we go where we want to
They think this thing is a highway, highway
But will they be alive tomorrow?

I like how if you try to over think the lyrics it kind of tells you to try the off beaten road and just go for it. Don’t just stay on your lane boy!

I had to Google the lyrics and I was shocked to read the rest of the lyrics. I like this song. I really do. I like how, at least from my understanding, as a group they know that they need to make hits for money but they too are trying to find creativity to fulfill their own happiness.

Regardless, all these songs I’m hearing are so heartless
Don’t trust a perfect person and don’t trust a song that’s flawless
Honest, there’s a few songs on this record that feel common
I’m in constant confrontation with what I want and what is poppin’
In the industry it seems to me that singles on the radio are currency
My creativity’s only free when I’m playin’ shows

I hope you liked the three songs I shared from Twenty One Pilots this July. I am only a new listener for this band so if you know some of their older songs, drop a line below and let’s share songs! 🙂

I know this sounds contradictory, but I kinda love Twenty One Pilots more the less I listen to them! If I don’t listen to them all the time they seem fresh and amazing every time I do.

    • I have to agree with you. I have been listening to them non stop and it has gotten to a point where I am getting sick of them. 🙂

  2. Listen to the older stuff! But if you’re looking for more pop-ish songs from their most recent album maybe try Tear In My Heart x
