Let’s have coffee

It’s been a while since I had a chat with you. I know I have a lot of updates in store but I honestly don’t know if I’ll remember them. LOL.

If we were having coffee, I’ll tell you that I had this amazing plan on how to improve our coffee dates. I’d include more pictures and give you an actual glimpse of how my life, no matter how simple it is, actually goes. Unfortunately, I always forget to take pictures! Also because, my weekdays are so repetitive, I’ll probably just post pictures of my work place or what I ate. Not the best life out there!

If we were having coffee, I’d share with you that I am now working on a project that has an awful shift. Work starts at 3 in the afternoon and ends at 1 in the morning. IT SUCKS, is an understatement. I’m a morning gal and this shift is driving me crazy. I’ll be sleepy at work by ten and by the time I go home, my head is about to explode from headaches. Good thing is, I have this coworker who drives a car. I just carpool with him. His car is a mess, though. I say that without any prejudice. Just facts. It is dirty. I feel like there’s bacteria everywhere and I don’t want to touch anything. I’m not a neat freak but it’s dirty. The other day, I was sneezing like a fool at work and I think it’s because of it. It’s a bit disappointing that I don’t have other options at the moment, lol. I honestly hope that next week his car is cleaner.

Was I able to share with you that I just finished my first 5km run last February 5? If we were having coffee, let me tell you that I have ran that distance before. However, last Sunday was the first time I joined a run and finished it! YEY. My time before the run was an hour and fifteen minutes. During the run, I clocked in at fifty minutes! Twenty five minutes quicker than my fastest past! I am very pleased. 😀

It was also quite an experience. There were a lot of runners. This also meant that I had to pass quite a number of them just so I can have my own space. I did this by speeding up. BIG MISTAKE! I almost had cramps on kilometer one. I felt my legs were stiffening and the only way to relax them was to slow down. I didn’t stop. I didn’t want to stop. Good thing my legs cooperated even if the only thing I did for it was slow down.

After the race, we were at this open area where you could go around and get freebies from the run’s sponsors. We got a lot of free things but I just hate how Filipinos are so unorganized and dirty. People didn’t know how to fall in line! They also just threw their trash everyone.

I’m actually writing this on a Friday, days earlier than when it will be posted. Why? ‘Cause on Sunday, I’ll be going up a mountain. I don’t know how it’ll go  (I’m actually quite nervous, it’s my first hike in two years) so I’m preparing in advance. If all goes well, I’ll post a picture of me on the summit. If not, I’ll tell you all about it next week.

I hope you’re having an amazing year so far! 2017’s looking pretty good from where I stand. 🙂

Guess who made it to the top?

  1. Good luck with the shift adjustment! I’m a morning person too, but I’ve been in 12-hour night shifts for more than a year and now that I just got back to day shift – the struggle is real!

    • Omg!! I was working nights for four years and the moment I had to switch back to normal shift, my body both loved and hated me! Struggle is real talaga! 😂
