Shawill’s Eyelash Extensions

The first make-up product that I bought for myself was a mascara. Remember America’s Next Top Model and how they would always shoot for Cover Girl? I bought the Lash Blast Volume Mascara because of that show!

So, it does not come as a surprise that I finally gave in and bought my first pair of extensions for this experiment. I am obsessed with lashes and I will try to emphasize it in any way I can!

First Impressions

I was surprised that this product had semi-plastic lashes. I was expecting eyelash extensions to be softer especially since they will be going near your eyes. I don’t know if it’s this product specifically or it’s for all eyelash extensions in the market.

Try on

The end of the eyelashes was already sticky when I took them out. I don’t know if that’s normal. As I was trying to measure it against my eyes, I had a difficulty figuring out which way it was supposed to go, lol. I kept on flipping it back and forth! Finally, after getting my bearings, I proceeded to put glue on the end. Like a true star, the glue went all over the place!!

Round two was a lot better and I finally got the glue where I wanted it.

I let it dry for a couple of minutes then proceeded to glue it as close as possible to my natural eyelashes. This was difficult! I didn’t know where to place it!!! I had to to do it several times but I still wasn’t able to place it properly. This is my best try. I decided to quit after this because I was getting frustrated! It looks okay from this angle but if looked closely, you’ll see the space between the falsies and my natural lashes.

Doing this was hard. It’s scary since I was putting glue near my eye plus, for a beginner, it gets frustrating because you don’t know how to put it on properly. It was just an unpleasant experience! It looks nice but personally, it’s not worth it.

My failure and frustrations are probably caused by my inexperience with eyelash extensions. I had extremely high expectations for this product but I didn’t factor in my expertise. Will I try doing this again? Definitely not. Unless someone actually does this for me, I’ll stick to my mascaras and eyelash curlers!

For beauty experts out there, any tips for beginners like me? Or could you tell me what I did wrong? I’d love to know and hopefully get inspired to try again!
