Let’s have coffee

It’s been a while since we’ve had coffee! How fast time flies when you’re having fun or not. I’ve been super busy moving domains and hosting, planning my wedding, trying to excel at my job and losing weight that I’ve totally forgotten all about you. I didn’t mean for that to happen. It just happened. But I’m here now so why don’t we just get to it?

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you the obvious first. I moved hosting. I’m finally out of WordPress.com for good and onto WordPress.org. I talk about it detail here but if you like the short version, it goes like this – WordPress.com will cost me $99 while WordPress.org cost me $24. There’s really not much to think about when you want to save money. I decided to make the move before my plan with WordPress.com expires this September to keep my existing domain. I really like my domain. It has a perfect ring to it. Don’t you agree?

Everything should be the same. I even bought my theme just so I can have the same feel as my WordPress.com blog. It was in euros and it cost me an additional €18. It’s the perfectionist in me. Most of the free themes I saw didn’t fit my style and the minimalist one that caught my eye cost almost the same as this one. I don’t regret it. 😛

If we were having coffee, I’d give you updates about our wedding. Everything is almost done! We’ve booked everything except for hair and makeup because I wanted to have my dress first before booking anyone. Guys, here comes the tricky part. I don’t really have a thing for dresses. I find it uncomfortable and restricting.

I am trying though. We went to Divisoria to look at ready to wear dresses the other week.

I personally like the first one. I like it because it’s white and it only costs 12,000 pesos. The only downside, I honestly think it’s poorly made. The embroidery is coming off and the shop doesn’t do any alteration. As for the rest, I think it’s pretty but it’s not my style. I am not feeling the ball gown look and would kill for a dress where I could move and dance even if I wouldn’t.

My mom is suggesting I just have someone make it for me. I’m down for that if and only if, it’ll be my style and it’ll fit my less than 20,000 peso budget. I am not willing to spend anything more than that because it’s just a dress.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about my job. I like it because I get to work from home 80% of the time. I can’t say I like my work but it pays the bills and that’s all there is to it. I have a thing for my colleague though.

He is annoying the living shit out of me. I am not skilled at my work (I am new to the group) but I am a hard worker. I try and try and constantly try. This guy, however, doesn’t have the same work ethic as me. Maybe it’s because he’s a fresh grad and lacks the skills but yeah, it’s stressing me out a bit. 🙁 I hope I have it in me to be patient and try to teach him a thing or two.

I guess that’s it. I don’t have anything else. I’ve been working home so often I don’t have anything new, lol. Oh wait, does watching Westworld count? I’ve been watching it lately and I’m so torn about it. I love the story and the complicatedness of the plot BUT IT’S CONFUSING ME! Have any of you guys watched it? What do you guys think about it?

  1. I like the first one too! But I think if you don’t feel like it’s the right dress, then look for more. Until you finally find THE DRESS. Go for that 20K worth! It’s a WEDDING DRESS

    • The problem is wala masyadong RTW dito. Yung mga RTW naman na nakita ko, konti lang yung lower than 20k. Super commercialized na ng weddings nakakainis! 🙁

  2. Maganda nga ‘yung unang dress! Simple lang ‘yung details sa palda hehe. Magpapa-video ba kayo sa kasal ninyo? ‘Yung same-day edit paandar? Kung oo share mo dito ha! Hehehe. 🙂

    • Diba! Bet ko talaga siya at yung presyo niya. Pero hanap muna tayo iba for now. LOL hindi na kami kumuha nun kasi sayang sa pera HAHAHAHA

  3. I love the first dress as well, it’s a little like the dress I had for my wedding though, so I’m a bit biased, haha. Definitely go for the dress that makes you feel gorgeous!

I just purchased the WordPress.com plan as I just started my blog this month, and don’t know much so I thought I would stick with the basic until I get my bearings. I would like to know what your favorite resource is to get advice on blogging? Your blog looks so nice and clean.

    • Haha, I think I’d have to try a few more dresses since I haven’t found the one yet. 🙂

When I started out I learned a lot of things from the ‘The Daily Post’ site by WordPress. I also joined almost all of their Blogging Universities. 😛 But half of the time, I just try out different things. 🙂 If you have questions, I’d be happy to try and answer them. 🙂

  4. There’s probably something wrong with me pero… magkakamuka yung dresses! Hahahaha (you see, I’m not the best person to take as a shopping buddy lol). I can tell even the tiniest, slightest difference between lipstick colors, but with clothes, I’m practically blind. Hahaha.

Anywaaaaay. I didn’t know na mas mura pala mag self-hosting kesa bumili ng WordPress plan??? WOW. Balak ko pa man din. Tsk…

    • Hahaha!! They all look the same cause they have the same style. Puro ball gown style – na narealize ko di ko type! I hate shopping too which makes this dress hunt frustrate me! 😛

The cheapest WordPress plan is $32. You can definitely find cheaper plans if you self-host plus the freedom to monetize your site and customize it to your heart’s content. It’s practically the same kaya mas issuggest ko mag self-host. 🙂

  5. I like the first dress, too, though they are all beautiful. Keep trying on different ones. You will know when you find THE ONE. Congrats and good luck!

  6. Same! The only reason I like working for this company too is I get to work from home lol. Are you getting married within the year? So excited for you! (Ours is a bit further 1+ year because sukob haha)

    • You should consider the benefits too. Try ESPP and SPF promise good investments yun. 😛 I’m getting married Feb next year?? Ikaw?
