These two powders are my favorite powders in the entire world. Not only do they get the job done but it’s also dirt cheap! If you’re looking for a powder that can help with the sebum on your face, I highly recommend any of these two from Innisfree.
The original one is the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder. It has a faint inexplicable smell to it (but I like to call it the mineral smell) that helps control sebum for the whole day. It has a brightening effect that I attribute to its white color. When using this product, I highly advise to blend it into your skin really well as it sometimes gives off a subtle white cast. The Innisfree No Sebum Blur Powder, on the other hand, doesn’t have any distinct smell. It also has a beige color which helps in its blurring effect. It helps cover up any pores or subtle impurities that your face might have. It also greatly helps with controlling sebum and keeping you matte and fresh all day.
One difference I’ve noticed between the two is how much more fine the Mineral Powder is compared to the Blur Powder. It feels like the blur powder is a bit more compact compared to the other. I don’t know if it’s just the blur powder I have (since other reviews online don’t have this) but on a personal experience, that’s what I really felt.
When applied to the face as a powder (after your basic skincare) both products apply well and really control the sebum all day. When using either product, I’ve never reapplied it throughout the day because there’s absolutely no need.
When applied to the face as a setting powder, the mineral powder has a brightening effect that makes your skin look a shade lighter. This can easily be fixed with enough blending. Doing so doesn’t even compromise its sebum control which is amazing. The blur powder, on the other hand, does the same job but without the brightening effect. Do note that if you’re going to use this as a setting powder, consider your base product. Based on personal experience (since I have a lighter skin tone and I use a cushion foundation that matches my skin perfectly already) the blur powder made me look pale. It’s as if it didn’t work well with my foundation that was already a perfect
If you’re looking for a powder that can help you with your sebum, any of these two can easily get the job done for you. To decide which of these two you should get would depend on what other skin issues you might have. If you have pores or skin concerns you might want to conceal or blur out, I’d recommend the Innisfree No Sebum Blur Powder. However, if you have normal skin or if you’re confident even if you have pores, the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder is the one for you. Overall, both these products are amazing at either setting makeup and controlling sebum. You stay matte and oil free for hours! As always, five thumbs up for Innisfree products.
